Job Description

The City of Edgeley Public Works Maintenance crew is responsible for operation, maintenance, and repair of city infrastructure. This role involves operating and maintaining water and sewer utilities, street maintenance, parks and grounds maintenance, waste and recycling, as well as a variety of other duties to ensure safe and reliable city services. 

​Primary Responsibilities:

• Street Maintenance: repairing potholes, patching asphalt, grading gravel roads, maintaining curbs, managing street signage
• Snow & Ice Removal: plowing city streets, clearing intersections, sanding, and ensuring safe winter travel
• Water & Sewer Systems: maintaining water mains and sewer lines, repairing leaks, flushing hydrants, reading meters, and ensuring water quality and wastewater operations meet standards
• Parks & Grounds: mowing, trimming, planting, and maintaining city parks, and public grounds
• Solid Waste & Recycling: managing garbage collection, city cleanup days, and recycling programs
• City Infrastructure Maintenance: inspecting and repairing streetlights, storm drains, city buildings, and other municipal assets
• Equipment & Vehicle Maintenance: operating and servicing city-owned vehicles, plows, and machinery
• Public Works Projects: assisting with city construction, utility installations, and infrastructure improvements
• Event & Emergency Support: providing setup and logistical help for city events, and assisting with emergency response needs such as flooding, utility outages, or weather-related incidents
