2024 Alumni Banquet

On Friday, June 21, 2024, Edgeley Alumni President Gina (Musland) Dahl, Class of 1988 welcomed the Alumni to the 104th Edgeley Alumni Meeting and Banquet. Everyone stood as Grace Irey sang the National Anthem. Just over 200 people were in attendance and were served a delicious meal prepared by Grateful Plate served by the Edgeley-Kulm FFA Chapter.

Superintendent of EHS, Tyler Hanson welcomed the Alumni back for their 104th Alumni Banquet. It gives everyone a chance to connect with their past and make new connections for the future. EHS Graduates have gone out and done great things and we are all proud of each and every one of you. He thanked the Alumni board for their hard work and thanked all the alumni for coming and wished everyone a safe weekend and safe travels back home.

President Musland-Dahl invited all of the veterans in the group to stand. As they stood, applause filled the gym honoring each and every one of them for their service to our country.

Father Dale Lagodinski, (Honorary member of the Class of 1964) gave the invocation. Being thankful for the chance to be together and celebrating the memories makes this weekend a success. He talked about how the alumni has sustained this organization for over 100 years.

The Presentation of Gifts was given out to seven members of the Class of 2024. The 2024 Alumni Scholarship was awarded to Grace Irey.

Carleen (Nelson) Syversen, (Class of 1967) gave the membership report. With the addition of the Class of 2024’s 17 graduating members, our total has reached 2,866 graduates from EHS since 1908. The Class of 2024 is the 116th Class to graduate from EHS. All of the graduates from 1908 to 1939 are deceased. There are two living from the Class of 1940 – Bethy (Ham) Lee is doing well and resides in California and Eleizabeth (Welder) McIntyre is 102 and is also doing well. She also resides in California. The Class of 1942 has one living member, Edith (Ellings) Laning and is 100 years old. Violet (Schardin) Podenski was the oldest member at this year’s s banquet from the Class of 1945 and she turned 96 this year.

Roll Call was taken. Members of the Honor Classes spoke briefly about their class history and the members that were present for the Banquet.

There are no changes in the slate of officers for the next year on the EHS Alumni Board. The other Board Members, President Gina (Musland) Dahl, Vice President Jason Gross, Co-Treasurers Heidi (Heim) Larson and Amie (Heim) Oette and Secretary Megan (Klundt) Weichel.

With no old business and no new business, the meeting was adjourned.
